Tour Guide Beans

My name is Janna, but all my friends call me Beans. Why, you ask? Well one night in 2007, when Zac and I had just started dating, we were watching the comedic treasure Encino Man, starring none other than 90s heartthrob Brendan Fraser. At one point in the movie when Pauly Shore is holding up a bag of beans, he says “BEEEEAAAAAANS,” and for some reason, I thought that was hilarious. My husband started calling me Beans, because he thought it was funny, probably because I made it clear that I did not like the name. After 15 years though, it has grown on me quite much. 

Now that I’m done explaining my nickname origin story, let me tell you a little about myself. I am obsessed with Disney. Like SUPER obsessed. For me, Disney is not a brand or company. It is a feeling—a way of life. I measure time based on when our next Disney trip is, and I’m constantly thinking about said trip. However, it’s not just the park-life that I’m all about. Disney wouldn’t have nearly as much of an impact if it wasn’t for the wonderful movies and cartoons that always brought me so much happiness and comfort. On top of Disney, I grew up watching Star Wars and became just as obsessed with that; Princess Leia was my idol and Han Solo was my first crush. X-Men comics were also a regular purchase for me at our local On-Cue (later Sam Goody), and every Saturday morning or after school you could find me watching the X-Men cartoon, Batman animated series (yes, I know that’s DC and not Marvel), Spider-man, and of course, Power Rangers (not too long ago you could find the Yellow Ranger’s costume in Hollywood Studios). What can I say? I love fandoms and have always found them to be motivating, comforting, and inspirational. I’m excited to share our love, experiences, and knowledge of Disney (and more) with everyone!
